Erica Schoenberg s’en prend à pr1nnyraid

Lors d’une discution sur le tchat de Full Tilt Poker pendant une partie de poker high stakes entre David Benyamine et jason Rosenkrantz alias "pr1nnyraid", ce dernier a tenu des propos qui ont fait vivement réagir Erica Schoenberg, l’amie de David. Avec un ton soutenu, le joueur est rentré en conflit avec Benyamine lui disant qu’il n’était pas digne de son rang de joueur professionnel et que David Benyamine est tout simplement un fish. Il ne fallut pas attendre longtemps avant qu’Erica Schoenberg ne réagisse sur son blog pour dire ce qu’elle pensait de ce malotru, ce qu’elle na "pas l’habitude de faire". Mais quand on touche à David de trop près...

Erica Schoenberg défend David

"Ce gars, “Pyramid”, “pyrrinaid”, “Pyramind”, où je ne sais quel autre stupide pseudonyme est un clown du hold’em qui est voué à perdre tout son argent contre David ou n’importe quel autre pro et qu’il retournera jouer à Magic The Gathering."

Elle s’insurge également du fait qu’un gamin vienne parler de la sorte à David, un joueur respecté de la scène internationale qui ne serait en réalité, selon Rosenkrantz qu’un fish et espère que ce ce genre de joueur (jeune, arrogant et irrespectueux) continue de penser la même chose, qu’ils perdent tout leur argent et qu’ils retournent à l’école pour réaliser que la gloire éphémère dans le monde du poker n’est rien au yeux des autres étudiants.

Elle relativise cependant, le lendemain de la publication, en précisant que ce constat n’est pas général et qu’il s’applique à une minorité de joueurs.

I don’t usually talk or write of Mr. B’s online poker life, but I live it with him every day and silently suffer or celebrate, depending on how the session went. Lately it has been rather brutal, but that’s nothing new, since after three years with David I am finally used to the swings. (I’m not sure it’s a good thing that winning or losing 500k gets only a shrug or a thumbs-up reaction from me.) In addition to being rather numb to the swings, this is also the case for the observer/player chat. I have long since stopped reading what people have to say about David or myself, but every once in a while I catch something funny, poignant or just plain stupid. (Mostly it’s the latter.) Like this guy last night, Pyramid or whatever silly screen name he uses…

I’ve seen this player a couple of times on the no limit tables, but never playing the other games so I imagine he’s just a typical NL ass-clown. (You know the type - started playing in high school or college, probably after discovering poker through his Magic the Gathering friends.) Ahhhhhh, scratch this blog…

I started writing this yesterday and I had awakened in some kind of mood ! Now that it’s a day later as I finish the blog I don’t feel nearly as agro towards the player “Pyrrinaid”. (I still don’t really know the actual screen name.) He had chatted some things to David about how David had hit and run on him and how he (Pyramind) would NEVER do that because he would NEVER quit David. Then he went on about table etiquette and I just thought it was really something, you know, this kid telling Mr. B about proper decorum when playing heads up…It was quite amusing and rather preposterous to insinuate that Mr. B doesn’t have table manners and is such a fish that Pyramid wouldn’t dream of quitting first. I can only hope these types of players (young, arrogant, disrespectful) keep thinking this way because the ending will almost always be the same…They lose their money to Mr. B or some other top pro and give up on poker and go back to school, only to discover the brief fame they might have experienced in online poker means nothing to college students and they are inevitably the same trading card geek they always were, none the wiser…

Dans son blog, Rosenkrantz répond à Schoenberg de manière concise...en se justifiant du fait qu’il n’a aucune haine envers David et qu’il est suffisamment expérimenté pour parler du poker en ligne High Stake. Il rajoute également qu’il ne joue pas à Magic The Gathering et qu’il est diplômé d’universtité depuis 2006..et qu’il ne pourra cesser de jouer contre Benyamine...

Cela risque d’animer un peu les tables de Head’s up...

I’ll preface this by saying I have no hate for DB at all. With that said… I kind of want to rant about how I’m actually extremely qualified to talk about online cash game etiquette or, how I really can’t begin to think of anyone who has made it to 300/600NLH (and played it regularly for the past 1.5 years) and then gone broke to some “crafty live vet.”

But that would just be silly. Instead, I’ll set a few things straight. I don’t play Magic the Gathering ! I graduated college in ‘06. And I know it’s tough to swallow, but yes I will not quit “Mr. B” if he plays me HU NLH and would love for that to happen sometime soon.
